Checkered Flat / Aluminum Flat is a type of Flat with diamond slice and tear-like patterns on its surface. These patterns increase safety by reducing the slipperiness of the Flat and at the same time provide an aesthetic appearance. It is usually made of steel.

It is manufactured by passing hot rolled flat steels through patterned molds. It is manufactured in S235JR qualities, thicknesses between 1.50 - 10,000, widths between 1000 mm - 1500 mm and lengths between 1000 mm - 6000 mm can be cut to the desired dimensions.
