HEA steel is a structural steel profile with an “H”-shaped cross-section, frequently used in construction and engineering fields. The abbreviation “HEA” stands for “European Wide Flange Profile.” These profiles are commonly chosen for their high strength and load-bearing capacity, making them suitable for a wide range of structural applications.
They are hot-rolled profiles produced in the following grades:
S275JR (ST44), S355JR (ST52), and S355J2.
Standard lengths are 6 meters and 12 meters. Custom lengths can also be produced based on project requirements.
Features of HEA Steel:
-
Shape: Characterized by an H-shaped cross-section that provides excellent strength and stability.
-
Material: Generally manufactured from carbon steel.
-
Dimensions: Determined by parameters such as width, height, and thickness. Different sizes are available to suit various applications.
-
Weight: HEA profiles have different weights depending on their dimensions. This is a critical factor in structural calculations.
Advantages of HEA Steel:
-
High strength due to the H-shaped design, increasing load-bearing capacity.
-
Enhanced stability, especially important for tall structures and bridge constructions, thanks to its wide flanges.
-
Available in a wide range of sizes, allowing flexibility for different applications.
-
Easy to process using methods such as cutting, drilling, and welding.
