NPI steel is a type of structural steel profile widely used in the construction and manufacturing industries. The abbreviation “NPI” stands for “Normal Profile I,” referring to the shape of the section.
They are hot-rolled structural profiles typically produced in the following grades:
S235JR (ST37), S275JR (ST44), S355JR (ST52), S275J2, and S355J2.
Standard lengths are 6 meters and 12 meters. However, custom lengths can also be manufactured according to project-specific requirements.
Features of NPI Steel:
-
Shape: NPI profiles have an “I”-shaped cross-section, which provides high strength and load-carrying capacity.
-
Material: Usually made from carbon steel.
-
Dimensions: NPI profiles are defined by parameters such as width, height, and thickness. Different sizes allow suitability for various applications.
Advantages of NPI Steel:
-
High strength due to the I-shaped design, offering increased load-bearing capacity.
-
Cost-effective compared to many other types of structural steel profiles.
-
Easy to fabricate by cutting, drilling, and welding.
-
Available in a wide range of dimensions, making them adaptable for different uses.
