HEB steel is a structural steel profile with an “H”-shaped cross-section, frequently used in construction and engineering applications. The abbreviation “HEB” stands for “European Wide Flange Profile.” These profiles are known for their high strength and load-bearing capacity, making them reliable in a wide range of structural projects.
They are hot-rolled and produced in the following grades:
S275JR (ST44), S355JR (ST52), and S355J2.
Standard lengths are 6 meters and 12 meters. Custom lengths can also be manufactured according to project requirements.
Features of HEB Steel:
-
Shape: HEB profiles have an H-shaped cross-section that provides excellent strength and stability.
-
Material: Typically manufactured from carbon steel.
-
Dimensions: Defined by parameters such as width, height, and thickness. Various sizes make HEB profiles adaptable to different applications.
-
Weight: Varies according to dimensions, which is a critical factor in structural calculations.
Advantages of HEB Steel:
-
High strength due to its H-shaped design, increasing the ability to bear heavy loads.
-
Stability provided by its wide flanges, which is especially important in tall structures and bridge applications.
-
Versatility due to the availability of various sizes for different project needs.
-
Easy fabrication with processes such as cutting, drilling, and welding.
